Ross Video's OverDriv Production Control System has been selected by R?seau Info-Sports (RIS), a new digital 24-hour sports headline news channel broadcasting to the French Canadian market.
RIS is sister station to RDS, a Bell Globemedia company which owns the rights to broadcast all major sporting events to the Quebec market. RIS broadcasts two headline, 30 minute loops in 3 blocks and runs 10 hours a day live with OverDrive from 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m., 5 day's a week and from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. on weekends. OverDrive is controlling the DigiCart, 2 VDCP interfaces, and the Yamaha audio mixer.
OverDrive is a Windows-based production control system used live and NRCS-based productions, extending the reach of the technical director to include control of video servers, audio mixers, robotic cameras and more. The centralized control offered by OverDrive gives the ability to create a more sophisticated production on the air without increasing broadcasters staffing levels. With OverDrive productions are more consistent and less staff intervention is required to execute a production.
